Nice work, unfortunately on IE8 the layout width is narrower than in Firefox. Not sure why (zoom 100%, text size medium).

We’ve played with the same stuff in those days
I’ve did the first draft of the BlankTheme project with this kind of functionality at Dec/08. But the difference, is that I’m using a CSS Framework (YAML) for x-browser compatibility, flexibility and some features, plus a Web Framework (Zikula), to handle content dynamically, use different configurations for different sections and put more additional zones if needed.

nice, 3 column layout, been wanting something similiar, but wondered what would have to be done to make it animated? so when you clicked on each column you saw it accordion per se’?

Hi there, I discovered your accordian about 4 days ago and having problems getting just a basic version to work. My problem is I am getting a accordian not defined error in FF (latest). So all I see to get is the divs showing but nothing else.

I am wondering if it is because I am using accordian v2.

Can you provide some assistance I would appreciate or feel free to drop me a contact number, or skype and I will call you direct.

great stuff! I think the only improvement to this great layout could be putting the center content before the left content in the code, for SEO improvement and (some say) accessibility reasons.

Hi,

I stumbled on your site in a round about way while I was learning about content management systems. I’ve been a traditional develop from web sites from scratch kind of guy so things like Joomla, Reflect and Silverstripe are new for me. I do see the benefit of these in terms of being parameter driven for editing content.

Nice work … on the “Holy Grail”

I don’t know why they call it that. Once you “get” CSS it’s pretty easy to accomplish that and more. I’ve done the 3 col method about 5 different ways and I have also messed with more than three columns. I stopped using tables and inline formatting for HTML back in 2003. CSS … Rules … Rocks … well you know what I mean.

I’ll have to tinker with your implementation just to see if it improves on the “Holy Grail Stuff” I worked out several years ago. http://www.wiz-bang.com/wiz-bang.php this is just one example of three col stuff I’ve played with.
